Even in southern parts of Finland lakes get frozen in mid-winter. There is snow for all the well-known winter activities such as snowshoeing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing but in addition to that there are long skating tracks kept in  good shape for tour skaters. It is fun hobby or serious sports depending on you. 

You will start from Tampere where you will get a 2-hour introduction to tour skating first. There is a 20km track right next to the city, so even if you have only a few hours in Tampere, it is enough for a training and dinner before leaving for Järvisydän Holiday resort in Rantasalmi by train. 

The most beautiful ice trail in Finland, from Oravi through Linnansaari National Park to Rantasalmi, or vice versa. The total length of the prepared route is up to 20 km/ one way depending on the weather conditions. The multi-activity route is open for walkers, mountain bikes, kick sparks, skiers and skaters when the weather is permitting. There are fire places along the route and a cafeteria on Linnansaari (open during winter peak season).

Your skating tours are self-guided, so you can select yourself, how long you will stay and which vehicle you use. Each member in the group can take the vehicle they want and you can meet at the fire place for picnic lunch. We have also included a snowmobile trip for adults and older children, the smallest ones can meet and feed reindeer and drive miniature snowmobiles. Daily you can relax in the lake spa after sports.
