Ice-fishing on Lake Inari is a perfect way to spend a winter day! Local professional fisherman Jarmo will either pick you up from Inari village or meet you at his farm by lake Inari. This fishing trip starts by dressing in overalls and boots. You will then jump on a sledge and your fishing guide will start his snowmobile and take you on a ride on the frozen lake.
Lake Inari is the third largest lake in Finland and it offers a unique setting for fishing. There are many different species of fish in lake Inari, for example, trout, lake salmon, white fish, grayling, perch and pike. Most of the shores are unbuilt. You can enjoy the unspoilt nature and sense the wilderness or maybe a small fishing competition with family or friends?
You will first drive to check the winter nets and then drive to the ice-fishing spot. One by one you will get your own hole, instructions and equipment. While everyone is trying to catch a fish, your guide makes an open fire and you will have some snack.
The farm is located just outside the Inari village, about 35km from Ivalo and about 330km from Rovaniemi.
NOTE! Transfer not included. You need to arrive by your own car or taxi (less than 10 minutes from Inari village)
Please note! The temperatures in Inari can reach extremely low. January and February are the coldest months. When the temperature is colder than -35 °C, the trip will be cancelled.
Please dress in layers, in thermal unerwear and fleece or woollen middle layer and long thermal socks and maybe woollen socks on top. Please do not wear cotton.
