This trip starts from the Helsinki airport or Helsinki railway station and ends to the same place. You can choose out of three departure dates 21st, 24th or 27th of December. Extra days can be added to both ends. 

You will visit two destinations Kuopio and Kuhmo, the order can be changed. Both hotels offer great sauna and spa experiences. The other one is in a city and the other one out in the wilderness.  

Kuopio

This small lakeside town is easy to reach by train. You will stay at Bella Lakeside Resort built right next to lake Kallavesi. Your hotel room is located in a wooden cabin with own lakeside view and pier. We have booked one cabin with two combinable hotel rooms for our guests. One of the rooms has its own, small log sauna. You will have your own Christmas tree indoors. 

Depending on your arrival date, your program will vary a little. Those arriving before Christmas can experience the atmosphere of the Kuopio Christmas market open until the 23rd of December. At Christmas we have a Christmas walk and a sleigh ride on the Boxing day. At New Year you will have a late night dinner in the sightseeing tower.  You also have access to the Saana spa once. There you can try smoke sauna and swim outdoors in a warm pool. 

Kuhmo

Train takes you from Kuopio to Kajaani where the hotel will pick you up. You will stay in a small wilderness spa hotel by lake and enjoy winter activities such as dogsledding and snowmobiling. The third activity you can choose yourselves, you can have an aurora photo workshop and walk, try snowshoeing or cross-country skiing or even e-fatbiking. Daily after the activities you can visit the wellness area and pamper your muscles in saunas and hot tubs. It can be freezing cold but the activities are short enough and you will get extra winterwear for the activities.
