- Aurora Adventure: A guided Northern lights tour to a frozen lake Pyhäjärvi with a local guide, stories about the Northern lights while enjoying cozily by the open fire in a wooden hut. During the tour, you will also meet the animals of the ranch.
Lucky Ranch is located near Pyhä-Luosto National park at the lake Pyhäjärvi, only 10 minutes drive from the year-round activity resort and ski resort Pyhätunturi. You reach us by car, or when booking a tour with us, you can book pick up (return transfer) either from Pyhätunturi or Luosto.
The nearest airport is in Rovaniemi, approximately 2 hours' drive to Pyhätunturi, and the nearest railway station is in Kemijärvi from where there is a bus connection to Pyhätunturi. (Please always check the public timetable in advance. We are also glad to help you with planning your trip to us!)
Free wifi is available at Lucky Ranch, and the Northern lights alarm system is available in Pyhä area. Lucky Ranch provides a variety of winter activities, please contact us in advance for further information.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION and instructions for an igloo overnight at Lucky Ranch Snow Igloos:
- Check-in time is 17.00 - 21.00. Please let us know in advance if you arrive between 21.00- 00.00. Check in is not possible after midnight.
- Check-out time is 11.00
- Address Oravanranta 15, house number 20. Reception (igloo basecamp) is red-coloured house on the lake side. There are Lucky Ranch signs next to it.

Our igloos are different every year since we are building them from scratch every December. We allocate igloos to customers based on the number of people in each party and the order of arrival of the customers.
- There is a warm area (base camp) next to the igloos, anyone with cold feet or other reasons can sleep in one of the sofas/beds inside (there is not a toilet or a shower inside an igloo, a bathroom and shower are available in a basecamp). There is one shower available for the igloo guests.
- The storage of luggage takes place inside the igloo basecamp in the common areas. Each igloo has a locked safety box (inside the igloo basecamp) where you can store your most valuable belongings, electronics, etc.
- Igloo basecamp serves as a cafe during the daytime and as a restaurant in the evenings so please note that it’s a shared area with other customers. For that reason there’s no kitchen access to the customers.
We offer dinner by reservation (Make sure to book at the latest the day before arrival sales@luckyranch.fi). You can find the menus HERE (linkki) or you can eat somewhere else before the arrival.
- Breakfast time is 8-10 and it’s included in the igloo overnight
- The closest food store is located in the center of Pyhä (10 km from us) and it’s called K-market Pyhätunturi. There are no other restaurants right next to us. The nearest restaurants are Mokkatupa Social Dining (serves lunch) and the restaurants at Sunday Morning Resort. There is more restaurant selection at Pyhä Ski Resort.
- Inside the snow igloo there is electricity, but charging a phone inside the igloo or base camp
during the night
is strictly prohibited for fire safety reasons.
- Free wifi and Northern Lights alarm system called Aurora Alert Realtime is available at Lucky Ranch igloo basecamp
- We recommend the igloo experience for healthy adults and children aged 8 and older. The temperature inside the snow igloo is always below zero celcius, so there is a risk of frostbite associated with the activity. All overnight igloo guests must be able to ensure that they stay inside their winter sleeping bags throughout the night. Lucky Ranch is not responsible for any illness or accidents if customers do not follow the given dressing and operating instructions.
