Ivalo is located in so-called aurora zone. You have a chance of seeing northern lights dancing on the sky from September until the beginning of April. In mid-winter, there are northern lights even on 4/5 nights but you do need a clear sky to be able to see them. Therefore, no guarantee can be given. 

In search of Aurora Borealis, we drive by snowmobile in through the dark, Arctic pine forest following the snowmobile routes around Ivalo. It’s really different and exciting to drive a snowmobile night time. The snowmobile safari begins with driving and safety instructions.
